Eric Pulier is an American entrepreneur who is also credited with many other roles in the life including technologist, columnist, public speaker, published author, philanthropist, and more. Interestingly, he has founded more than 15 companies and raised many millions of dollars through his initiatives. Pulier was behind some of the innovative start ups including XPrize program that has multiple competitions and prizes to push people to bring their highest potential. It is considered as a perfect program for people who seem to be less confident about life and felt they failed in the life as it gives them confidence and determination to work for success.
Akana, an SOA software program, is another significant start-up venture from Pulier. He followed a strategy of purchasing many SOA vendors under Akana in 2000s and finally sold it to Rogue Wave Software in 2016, after making it a comprehensive suite of SOA solutions. Pulier’s other ventures include Digital Evolution, Media Platform, US Interactive, ServiceMesh, Desktone, and Enterprise Cloud Leadership Council – merged with TM Forum. Apart from founding these businesses, he also actively invested in many venture capital funds, media and technology startups, and more.
Pulier is also a noted philanthropist with a number of initiatives. He works as the VP of Cloud Operations of Painted Turtle, a Lake Hughes-based summer camp established for children who are struggling with prolonged illness. Apart from contributing his time, Pulier also writes large pay checks to the organization to ensure the special needs of children are addressed. Interestingly, he also started a social media network for the struggling children named Starbright World, a platform for the children to connect with others who are experiencing the similar health issues. Pulier also created many multimedia educational programs and platforms for home use to assist with various health issues. His most notable program gives detailed information regarding multiple sclerosis.
Pulier started showing his brilliance in entrepreneurship from childhood and started his database company while he was studying in high school. He completed his graduation from Harvard University and was the editor of its daily newspaper, The Harvard Crimson. His book named Understanding Enterprise SOA is considered as an expert reference for SOA with detailed analysis.
