I’m so glad it’s finally Friday. I woke up Wednesday thinking it was Friday and was so disappointed when I realized that it wasn’t. It’s been a long week, so I’m so glad the weekend is finally here. It’s a good thing, too, because I have found a lot of projects that I can’t wait to try.
Now here’s an idea for that old sweater that is just collecting dust. You can recycle the yarn to make something else with it. Living in the south, we really have no need for sweaters but a lovely afghan to take to the ball game in late October would sure be nice.
It will be fun to teach my girl how to crochet when she is old enough. Crochet Mama’s little girl is learning but can’t read patterns just yet. But that hasn’t stopped her from making this iPod cover with her unique twist.
Remember a few posts back when I mentioned that I had bought some polymer clay? Well now I’ve found a perfect project for it. Look at these polymer crochet handles. Sometimes it’s better to use a steel crochet hook but find that it slides too much in my hands. A handle would surely help me keep a hold on it.
My husband is back in school to finish his degree. These notebooks made from scrap paper are perfect for writing down class assignments, websites, phone numbers, etc. It’s also a great way to recycle that scrap paper from scrapbooking and paper crafts.
And finally, here is a cute craft using empty 2-liter bottles to make your own Halloween bowling game.
Today is International Crochet Day, so pick up the hook and crochet. Also, Saturday, September 13 is the Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic. These are held every two weeks and tomorrow they will be building a pirate ship, just in time for Talk like a Pirate Day, which is September 19th. The clinics are free. Check with your local Lowe’s for times and more details.
