I’ve Got The Fabric, Now What To Make…
Aren’t these dreamy? I found them in the clearance section while making a quick run for cat food. Normally I just like to get in and out but today the clearance rack called to me. With good reason. If only I had more time. There was a roll of beautiful redish-brown leafy print and some soft powder blue material that I was comparing also. If I’m lucky they will still be there when I get a chance to go back.
Of course the next question is “What to do with them?”
I could find a few more matching remnants and some creamy brown backing and make a quilt. I’m not exactly the best quilter, mostly because of how time consuming it is. I still have a half finished neon pink quilt in my closet that I tried making for one of my nieces a year ago.
Or I could try my hand at a patchwork skirt. My oh so creative friend Sara makes some gorgeous patchwork skirts. I get giddy every time she shows one off. Maybe I should send my material to her and let her have her way with it.
There are so many choices, I’m not quite sure what to do. Which of course gets me eye rolls. As in “Why buy fabric if you don’t know what to do with it” eye rolls. Some people just do not understand the power of gorgeous wool or pretty fabrics.
I’m open to suggestions. Each roll is about a yard, so there is a bit to work with. Granted my sewing supplies are on the low side right now, but I’m sure I could still easily get what I need to make something. What do you think creative moms? What would you make with these beautiful fabrics?
