Make a Picture Book

by Summer M.

30GIFTS.gifIf you have young children in your life you probably know how much they enjoy looking at picture books. You can easily put together a personal picture book just for them to enjoy. All you need is a good camera and you are ready to go!

There are online photo site such as Snapfish that print your digital photos for you as well as make special gifts with your photos. You can use their services to put together and order a special picture book full of people and things that your little one would love. Family members, favorite toys, important places, and even pets all make great subjects for photos.

Of course you do not have to order a photo book online, you can make one yourself. If you have a digital camera and a printer you can create your own pages on your computer and print them off with special photo quality paper. Use your computer to layout the pictures how ever you want them and add your own text. Once you have printed the pages you may want to laminate them to protect them from spills and tears. Then you can put the pages together into a personalized picture book. You can create a hardcover book or follow the same instructions for making the pages to make a front and back cover. You can use a hole punch and ribbons to tie all the pages together.

Here is a great video that shows you how to make a book with a thick spine. You can even use this method for making a fun picture book. Enjoy!

About Creative Mom Cafe

Creative Mom Cafe is the place to come and try your hand at something you thought you could never do or to get an idea you would never have had on your own. Most of the ideas I bring to 'the Cafe' are simple and for the creativity-challenged but every now and then I will throw in a doozie for those of you who are waiting for it. Every month will have a theme and all ideas that month will tie in to that theme. It may be fun recipes for kids, a scrapbooking idea, an organizational tip or anything else that is in my head that month. I invite you to send your photos of projects you have done and at the end of the month I will highlight one or two "fan" projects! Thanks, stop in the Cafe as often as you can!
