New Writer!

Hello everyone!

I’m super excited to be taking over Creative Mom Cafe. For those who do not know me I’m Summer, mom os two little boys, and the writer of Mom Is Teaching. I love being creative and crafty, and even more when I do things I can share with my sons. I am also a huge fan of WAHMs and love to see what fun new things moms are creating in their own homes. Hopefully I can blend the two and make this a funky, creative, exciting blog to visit.

craft suppliesWith autumn upon us and winter coming up quick arts and crafts are picking up steam in a lot of families. Whether it is for school projects or just something to keep the kids occupied while the weather is bad, thre is nothing better than a little craft project to get everyone going. And with Halloween coming up there are tons of great crafty ideas to get everyone started. Jummy at Getting Crafty made cute Halloween cards from supplies bought at the dollar store. Kari at All Paper Arts has some cute pumpkin craft ideas. And at my homeschooling blog I’m participating in the Winter Bazaar, which has a Halloween theme for October. You can find all the other great ideas at Scribbit.

I also have to share that Etsy is hosting a too fun Costume-a-thon contest. If you have an Etsy account and are feeling inspired by all this Halloween goodness then you should join. Just make a handmade costume and gt it up in your Etsy shop by Octover 26th. Be sure to tag your costume with ‘costumecon’ so that it gets noticed. There are some awesome prizes being handed out, so I hope everyone enters!

OK, that’s enough babbling from me for right now. I’m really looking forward to writing more avout crafts and crafty ideas. I hope you are looking forward to reading more!

About Creative Mom Cafe

Creative Mom Cafe is the place to come and try your hand at something you thought you could never do or to get an idea you would never have had on your own. Most of the ideas I bring to 'the Cafe' are simple and for the creativity-challenged but every now and then I will throw in a doozie for those of you who are waiting for it. Every month will have a theme and all ideas that month will tie in to that theme. It may be fun recipes for kids, a scrapbooking idea, an organizational tip or anything else that is in my head that month. I invite you to send your photos of projects you have done and at the end of the month I will highlight one or two "fan" projects! Thanks, stop in the Cafe as often as you can!
