Purses
This week I got a new laptop. It’s an Acer Aspire One and it’s small enough to fit in a purse. I also like to carry around my digital camera to have with me just in case I run across something photo worthy.
The problem is that either my purses fit the laptop leaving no room for the camera and vice versa. Yesterday I came up with a solution - I’ll make my own purse.

Now comes the challenging part - what type of purse to make? I would love a crocheted exterior with a lined inside. It must be big enough and have compartments for my camera and laptop. I had made a small messenger bag for a swap last fall and think that design with a few changes would be perfect for me.
Since I absolutely adore SAK purses, I’m going to use nylon to crochet the purse to try to replicate the feel of the purse. But I might just make it from yarn since I have a ton of it and have promised myself to use some of it before I buy any more.
I do have a few other purse patterns that I’ve been wanting to make. Also I will have to check Ravelry for patterns to see if there is any that look appealing. I will have to write down what I want in a purse. I know I want at least two compartments and one side pocket. The crochet part might be the easiest part to make. The tricky part will be the lining. I definitely want a thick lining because of the weight I will putting in the purse.
This project will definitely take a little planning but hopefully in the end I will have a very functional purse.
