Rub, rub, rub your leaf
Think back to your early years. Bright colored paper, crayons and leaves. You got it! An image of you rubbing your little heart out and making a beautiful piece of art for “Mommy.”
For the majority of this month I have posted crafts to do for YOU. I wanted to include ideas for kids as well.
Rubbings are a great way to get kids to notice detail and open up conversations, “Mama, why do leaves have veins?” or “Mama, what made this hole in this leaf?”
Take a nature walk and pick up an assortment of leaves. You don’t have to wait for fall for this activity; infact, because the leaves won’t crumble in the summer you will have a no-mess project on your hands.
Simply place a leaf under a piece of paper - computer paper works very well because it is thin.
Grab a crayon and start rubbing - use the side of a paper-less crayon for best results.
Use a different color for each leaf fo a collage-type look.
Voila! Frame and Hang!
